Can users continue to turn the vilisto thermostat?
With our vilisto thermostat, you can set your desired temperature as usual by turning it. Illuminated LEDs show you the levels from 1-5. The good thing: if you don’t use the room for a longer period of time, the thermostat lowers the temperature fully automatically. This means you don’t have to turn the heating down yourself after work or at the weekend, for example, and save energy and CO2 emissions without any additional effort. The thermostat then heats the room back up to your comfort temperature in good time before you start work.
What technology/sensors are in the vilisto thermostats?
Our digital radiator thermostats heat thanks to patented presence detection. The 3 integrated sensors use movement, sound and light in the room to detect when and how the individual rooms are being used. Self-learning algorithms create a heating calendar on this basis, which is used to heat the rooms automatically.
How quickly does the thermostat detect whether someone is in the room?
The thermostat’s sensors scan the room every minute and determine the probability of presence on this basis. This means that presence in the room is recognized as such in less than 5 minutes and optimizing for users’ comfort.
Can I protect the thermostats against misuse or vandalism?
With our specially developed vandalism protection, the thermostats are fully protected against mechanical impact from outside, while functionality and operation are not impaired. Can I limit the temperature of the thermostats?
You can use the connected online platform to set the minimum and maximum temperature for the building or individual rooms – such as corridors or communal kitchens. If the thermostat lowers the temperature when you are away, how can you ensure that the rooms are not cold in the morning?
Thanks to the 3-sensor technology built into the thermostat, the algorithm learns when rooms are used in the morning and how long it takes to reach a comfortable temperature. This means it starts preheating in good time. In addition, the thermostat never drops below the set minimum temperature, thus preventing the room from cooling down completely.
What data can I view with the online platform?
The online platform displays the temperature recorded by the radiator thermostats as well as time and room data (e.g. humidity). On this basis, optimization potential can be identified and implemented through additional settings on the system. For example, minimum and maximum temperatures can be sensibly limited in order to achieve further savings – without any loss of comfort for the user. What effort do I have to make as a customer/user?
Our system is self-learning, continuously optimizes itself and regulates the heating fully automatically. How much work do I have to do as an energy manager / climate protection manager?

How does the data transfer from the thermostat to the gateway work?
The thermostats send the room data measured at the radiator end-to-end encrypted via low-frequency radio to the gateway. The gateway transmits the data via LTE to the cloud on a server located in Germany, where it is pseudonomized. This is done independently of the network and without any further planning or effort on your part. Integration into an existing network is therefore not necessary. The system also meets the legal requirements for data protection and has been awarded the TÜV seal of approval.
