Project

EDEKABANK, the central financing institution of the EDEKA retail trade, was looking for a short-term energy-saving measure for its rented premises in the north of Hamburg. They found this in the intelligent individual room control system from vilisto: within a single day, 266 radiators were fitted with self-learning thermostats. Since then, the bank’s business premises have only been heated as required, so that the temperature is automatically lowered when not in use.

This easy-to-implement and fast-acting measure has paid off for EDEKABANK. It has resulted in demonstrable savings of 24.2% in energy, heating costs and CO2 emissions. Due to these high savings and thanks to the federal subsidy for efficient buildings (BEG), which was also applied for smoothly for this project, the investment pays for itself after around 3 years.

*Forecast values based on weather-adjusted heat metering in accordance with VDI 3807 & 4710 under constant framework conditions.

The bank's heat consumption accounts for around 17% of our emissions. Our aim is to gradually reduce this - the self-learning thermostats make a significant contribution to this with a reduction of over 24%.
