Protestant Church in Hessen and Nassau

Project
In the Protestant Church of Hessen and Nassau, climate protection is not only seen as a task of state legislation, but also as part of the church’s mission. For this reason, the church synod has passed its own climate protection law, with which the church, its parishes, deaneries, associations and other church bodies, institutions and foundations are to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2045. Every two years, the Synod decides on climate protection plans and specific measures for buildings, mobility and procurement together with the budget. With this in mind, the Protestant Church in Hessen & Nassau relies on intelligent heating with vilisto in its administration and offices to increase the energy efficiency of its buildings.
Successfully: Compared to previous years with conventional, analog radiator thermostats, the Protestant Church of Hessen and Nassau has been able to save 20 percent heating energy in the administration headquarters and 15.3 percent in a branch office with the intelligent vilisto thermostats. Cumulatively, this amounts to 109,000 kilowatt hours less natural gas per year, which equates to heating cost savings of 6,167 euros. More important, however, are the 22.1 tons of CO2 saved due to the reduction in energy consumption.
