Sparkasse Landshut

Project
Sparkasse Landshut wants to significantly reduce its CO2 footprint by 2035. To achieve this, it is implementing optimization measures on an economic, social and ecological level. Sparkasse Landshut is also the first bank in Lower Bavaria to become a member of “Team Energiewende Bayern”, an initiative of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. To increase energy efficiency in its buildings, Sparkasse Landshut introduced among others an energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 and digitized its heat management with vilisto.
Since then, 144 intelligent vilisto thermostats have automatically controlled the room temperature in the building, which was built in 1972, in line with demand. After the first AI-supported heating period, it is clear that the technology has enabled Sparkasse Landshut to reduce its energy consumption by 18.4 percent. This means that around 41,000 kilowatt hours less district heating is required per year, which represents an improvement in the CO2 footprint of 11.5 tons and a cost saving of around 3,000 euros. The investment pays for itself after around nine years through the savings in heating costs and CO2 tax.
