Energy savings of over 23 percent: ACE Auto Club Europa relies on intelligent thermostats
AI-controlled radiator thermostats from vilisto automatically regulate room heating in the ACE control center and reduce heating costs and carbon footprint
Investment successful: with the help of digitalization and artificial intelligence, ACE, Europe’s mobility companion, consumes almost a quarter less energy at its headquarters in Stuttgart. Following the installation of innovative radiator thermostats, the first evaluations are now available for ACE Auto Club Europa: 100,100 kWh less energy consumption per year, a saving of 23.4 percent compared to the previous year. This will reduce ACE’s energy costs by 12,119 euros per year and reduce its CO2 footprint by 20.2 tons.
A good 260 smart thermostats from the Hamburg-based climate protection company vilisto have been optimizing the heating in the Stuttgart administration building since last winter. They use integrated sensors to detect whether a room is being used and thus only heat the offices according to actual demand. When you are absent, an algorithm automatically reduces the room temperature; when you are present, the personal comfort temperature is set in good time. This so-called digital heat management can reduce inefficiencies in heating behavior and thus energy costs and CO2 emissions. Because: “80 percent of the time, offices are empty, yet they are often heated continuously,” says Christoph Berger, Managing Director of vilisto. “People usually forget to turn the heating off at the end of the day or only turn it down to the middle setting so that they don’t end up in a cold office in the morning. Despite mechanisms such as night setback, this means that much more heating energy is consumed in office buildings than necessary,” continues Berger.
