City of Kassel

Project
Especially in schools, rooms are used at regular times and are usually empty at weekends and during the vacations – but the heating is running. This is not only a burden on the climate, but also on the budget in view of the current rise in gas prices. The city of Kassel is countering this with the intelligent individual room control system from vilisto – as a supplement to the building management system, the temperature is now lowered individually for each room even before the night setback begins. Thanks to integrated presence detection, the self-learning thermostats only heat as required and can be installed quickly without any structural measures.
During the coronavirus pandemic, many schools recorded a significant increase in energy consumption due to frequent ventilation – but thanks to vilisto, Bossental School was able to save 19.1% on energy.
As a major pioneer, the city of Kassel decided back in 2019 to become climate-neutral by 2030. With 12 tons of annualCO2 savings, vilisto is supporting this exemplary goal. The state of Hesse is also subsidizing the use of vilisto thermostats by up to 60% due to the climate protection contribution of intelligent individual room control.
