Landshut Savings Bank

Project
Sparkasse Landshut aims to significantly reduce its carbon footprint by 2035. To this end, it is implementing optimization measures on economic, social, and environmental levels. Sparkasse Landshut is also the first financial institution in Lower Bavaria to join “Team Energiewende Bayern,” an initiative of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. To improve energy efficiency in its buildings, for example, Sparkasse Landshut implemented an energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 and digitized its heating management using vilisto, among other tools.
In the building, which was constructed in 1972, 144 smart vilisto thermostats have been automatically controlling the room temperature according to demand ever since. After the first AI-supported heating season, the results show that this technology has enabled Sparkasse Landshut to reduce its energy consumption by 18.4 percent. This means that approximately 41,000 kilowatt-hours less district heating are required per year, resulting in a reduction in the CO2 footprint of 11.5 metric tons and cost savings of just over 3,000 euros. The investment will pay for itself in about nine years through savings on heating costs and CO2 taxes.
*Forecast values based on weather-adjusted heat metering in accordance with VDI 3807 & 4710 under constant framework conditions.
