DB InfraGO

Project
DB InfraGO – formerly known as DB Netz AG – is a subsidiary of Germany’s largest mobility and transportation group Deutsche Bahn and, as an infrastructure company, creates the basis for rail transport and the achievement of transport policy goals. Aware of its great responsibility with regard to environmental and climate protection, the company aims to be climate-neutral by 2040. One part of DB InfraGO’s wide-ranging sustainability efforts is vilisto’s digital heat management system to increase energy efficiency.
In 2021, DB InfraGO therefore equipped one of its Hamburg office buildings with 91 intelligent vilisto thermostats. According to DB InfraGO’s own calculations via its sister company DB Energie, the AI-supported system, which only heats according to actual demand, saves an average of 18.4 percent energy per year. This corresponds to around 42,000 kilowatt hours less energy required in the form of district heating. The reduction in energy requirements is reflected in 5.5 tons less CO2 emissions and thus improves the company’s environmental footprint.
