Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude

Project
The Sparkassen (the largest financial group in Europe) have set themselves the goal of being climate-neutral by 2035 – ten years earlier than the Germany-wide climate targets. More than 200 Sparkassen in the country are already committed to greater sustainability and climate protection. This includes the Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude. In 2023, the digital heat management solution from vilisto was installed at its headquarters in Harburg. Since then, 189 intelligent radiator thermostats have been used to heat each room as individually required and to automatically lower the room temperature when people are absent.
With the help of this intelligent individual room control system, the Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude saves almost 21 percent energy annually, according to expert calculations. In detail, this means: 226,974 kilowatt hours less energy generated by heating oil, 10,058 euros less heating costs and almost 46 tons less CO2 emissions. The Sparkasse received a grant for this energy-saving project via the Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings (official name: BEG). The investment in the digital heat management will be amortized within 4.4 years thanks to the proven cost savings.
