Ausgangssituation & Projekt
C. Steinweg (Süd-West Terminal) GmbH & Co KG is part of the international C. Steinweg Group and specializes in the stevedoring and warehousing of conventional general cargo in the Port of Hamburg. The company, which has been in existence for 175 years, has committed itself to a sustainable way of working in order to meet current and future challenges. This includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions in order to achieve a low-carbon economy. To this end, vilisto technology is used in its Hamburg office buildings.
Two buildings were equipped with a total of 187 intelligent vilisto thermostats, which control the room heating automatically and according to demand. The results are impressive: In the social building, 119 thermostats save 25.3 percent energy compared to previous years. That is over 100,000 kilowatt hours less natural gas and therefore 20.3 tons lessCO2 emissions. The annual cost savings of 15,656 euros result in a payback period of just 1.6 years. A further 89 vilisto thermostats have been installed in the C. Steinweg company building, reducing energy consumption there by 23.4 percent or 35,894 kilowatt hours. This reduces theCO2 footprint for this building by 9.5 tons per year. The investment is amortized within 4.1 years through the savings.
