Project

Especially in schools, the rooms are used at regular times and are usually empty at weekends and during the vacations – but the heating is on. To improve this situation and saveCO2, we worked with ENTEGA to install our digital thermostats in a school in the Hessian Odenwald. The aim is to reduce heat consumption and only heat the classrooms when they are actually needed.

“A total of 150 of the smart control units were installed in the TLS. They support the district in its efforts to protect the climate and use raw materials efficiently,” explains Oliver Grobeis, head of the schools department, together with Frank Slawik, who is responsible for energy controlling in the district’s own buildings. In the first year after installation, around 170,000 kWh of heat was saved – while maintaining the same level of comfort. This corresponds to a percentage energy saving of 18.7%.

For the modern energy concept, vilisto, together with the Odenwald district and ENTEGA, was awarded the Hessian State Prize for innovative energy solutions. The prize money will be used to equip other buildings in the district with our digital heat management system in order to improve their heat balance.

Together with the vilisto team, we have already retrofitted several municipal properties in southern Hesse. We are delighted that we can make a contribution to climate protection in local authorities by using smart radiator thermostats.
