Especially in schools, rooms are used during repeated time periods, while they are empty during weekends and school vacations – but the heating remains turned on. We partnered with ENTEGA and installed our digital thermostats in a school in Hessian Odenwaldkreis to improve this situation and to save Co2 emissions. It is the goal to reduce heat consumption and to heat the classrooms only when they are being used.

Results

„In total, 150 of the smart control were installed in the TLS. They support our county in its efforts to protect the climate and to use resources efficiently”, explains school department representative Oliver Grobeis together with Frank Slawik, who is responsible for energy controlling for the county-owned buildings. In the first year after installation, this saved around 170,000 kWh of heat – while maintaining the same level of comfort. This corresponds to a percentage energy saving of 18.7%.

For its modern energy concept, vilisto, together with the Odenwaldkreis and ENTEGA, was awarded the Hessian State Prize for Innovative Energy Solutions. With the help of the prize money, further buildings in the district are to be equipped with our digital heat management system to improve their heat balance.
