vilisto TV report on ZDF & ARTE “Heat thanks to hemp and hightech”
“Camera on, film off!” was the motto in December 2020, when a film team commissioned by ZDF visited us and shot footage together with us in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany for the ZDF series “plan b”.
“plan b” is a documentary series that aims to show stories of success and report on what possible solutions or alternatives exist for social problems.
In the episode “Heat thanks to hemp and hightech” new ways to the heat turnaround are presented. Among other climate-friendly solutions, our digital heat management is presented as an innovative way to quickly save CO2.
The production team accompanied us to Bad Segeberg to install our digital radiator thermostats. One challenge in public buildings is to reduce energy consumption and to adapt it to the actual use of the rooms.
In the school, named “Gemeinschaftsschule am Seminarweg”, we installed 74 of our self-learning thermostats. From now on, the room temperature will be adapted to the usage and only heated when the classrooms and teachers’ rooms are actually in use. This is expected to save 3,500 euros a year and contribute 10 tons of CO2 to climate protection.
Our Head of Operations Christoph Martin also gave the school’s pupils an insight into our energy-saving solution and, together with the Climate Protection Manager of the City of Bad Segeberg Ben Collin Matthies, answered the inquisitive questions of the Climate Working Group.
