Project
The Archaeological Museum Hamburg transitioned from being a historical museum for the city of Harburg to becoming the Federal Archaeological Museum of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg within its 120 years of existence. The cultural site is used in a variety of ways: Next to “classic” office use in the administrative parts, there are exhibition spaces, gastronomy areas as well as a connected theatre. In January 2020, vilisto’s self-learning thermostats were installed – with the aim to adapt the heating consumption as closely as possible to the actual demand resulting form the different usage situations.

Result
Ever since, the public foundation has saved around 20% of heating energy and Co2 emissions, although the gastronomy, library and workshop areas are primarily being heated via an air ventilation system.
The next steps imply to digitize the heating system with smart high-efficiency pumps, to further optimise the building heat distribution.
